Hello everyone,
My name is Katie, and I am 19 years old. I am a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a granddaughter, a niece, and a friend. I have also been directly affected by cancer. My grandfather, grandmother, and uncle were all diagnosed with terminal cancer, and have lost their battle.
However, my best friend was diagnosed two years ago with cancer, and is still fighting her battle, along with millions of other cancer patients throughout the world.
I am a volunteer at the American Cancer Society and a team captain for my local Relay for Life event. For the event, my team has a goal of $1,500 — every penny of which goes towards research, treatments, and care for patients and survivors of cancer. We want to beat this goal, just like cancer patients work to beat their illness!
Cancer has taken far too much from me, and from many others. With your help, we can fight this illness. Even if it’s five dollars or just a reblog to spread the word, every little bit helps our battle against cancer!
